We will be celebrating 200 years since the birth of Henry Clifton Sorby with a mini-bioblitz and

guided tours with Sorby group specialists around the churchyard. Born in Attercliffe, Herny Clifton

Sorby became Sheffield’s greatest scientist and naturalist, pioneering many techniques in

geological microscopy, metallurgy, marine biology and much more.
