We will be celebrating 200 years since the birth of Henry Clifton Sorby with a mini-bioblitz and
guided tours with Sorby group specialists around the churchyard. Born in Attercliffe, Herny Clifton
Sorby became Sheffield’s greatest scientist and naturalist, pioneering many techniques in
geological microscopy, metallurgy, marine biology and much more.

free to make your own investigation in your own area of interest. Derek
Whitely will be co-ordinating lists of species found and sharing them
with the team that manages the churchyard and who will also be joining
us.
