29. Weasel Mustela nivalis

Widespread and evenly distributed across the region. Recorded in all habitats including urban and suburban areas where Weasels are more common than Stoats. Scarce on high moorlands, as indicated by the sparsity of records in SK19 and large areas of SK29 and SK28. Poorly recorded areas include the Dukeries, north Sheffield, and much of Rotherham. More survey work needed for this species.
