21. Wood Mouse Apodemus sylvaticus

Occurs in a wide range of habitats throughout the area. More frequently recorded than House Mouse Mus musculus in suburban areas. Wood Mice are frequently found indoors, in gardens and in outbuildings. The maps combine records of Apodemus sylvaticus and Apodemus sp. from skeletal remains although they are separated on the database. There are still no confirmed records of Yellow-necked Mouse Apodemus flavicollis from this region.
