A dot represents the recorded presence of a species within a one kilometre square within the given dateband. A dot may represent a sighting of a live animal, a corpse, feeding sign, track, home, skeletal or hair remains, or identifiable droppings. It does not necessarily mean that a species is breeding within the square. It may be feeding, passing through, or carried by a predator or scavenger. |
