Fox

Comments:
As I was standing in the back kitchen of our house in Meersbrook, Sheffield at about 15:00 on Tuesday, 3rd June 2008, a large fox suddenly bolted inside, traversed the kitchen, entered the hall and took the second left into the living room. Our Border Terrier, normally enraged at the smell of a fox, stood motionless and apparently perplexed. The first thing we did, however, was to lock him safely away in another room. Camera in hand I peered into the fox's den to spot him hiding under a chair. He suddenly got up and leaped on top of the television! Slithering off he ended up behind the box amongst a tangle of cables. When I entered the room he took his leave abruptly and found his own way out without difficulty. He (she?) had apparently been flushed from a neighbour's garden by a cat-owner searching for a pet which had just been hit by a car.
